who I am and my qualifications:

Hey, Everyone! First thing to know about me is that I would much rather talk about politics and civil action than I would about myself. I'm a bit introverted, shy at first, kind of a dork. I like reading, yoga, vegetables, coffee, doc martens, oxford commas, music, water, anime, philosophy, learning something new, tattoos, and poetry.

Not good at small talk - let's talk about what matters to us, what makes us ask questions and wonder at the nature of things, what we like to nerd out about. I am deeply interested in discussions about how people experience the world. I firmly believe that how we experience the world is vital to understand in order to create and maintain systems (like education) that meet the needs of the community.

Aubrey Gordon, author of What We Don’t Talk About When We Talk About Fat, says, “We need a world that insists upon safety and dignity for all of us—not because we are beautiful, healthy, blameless, exceptional, or beyond reproach, but because we are human beings.”
